The stay here was fabulous short for a return visit xxx. The location was perfect, the staff was amiable. On top of that, restaurants and bars were next to the property. I had spotless, well furnished rooms with an electric kettle, a stone fireplace and central heating.

Loved the breakfast in our room served on this huge tray with all these tasty treats, such a nice touch! Jonathan and louise r the best hosts, so friendly n. The place is also spotlessly clean n beautifully decorated!
Only thing is there was limited parking, but they helped us with that. Wouldve liked a little more info on nearby restaurants.

I enjoyed every moment at Highgate House. The rooms, especially the Autumn room, were spacious with beautifully done decor. The king-sized bed felt luxurious. The bathroom had all modern amenities and was super clean, with soft towels that added a nice touch. Breakfast was served in the lovely dining room and featured a delicious spread with plenty of options, including well-cooked local ingredients. Polly and Andy were really good hosts, always friendly and accommodating. Polly even ironed my husband's shirts, above and beyond! The guest house sits close to the town, just a short walk to reach the heart of Whitby. Parking was a bit of a challenge. The public car park behind the house was small, and finding a space took longer than expected. If you're planning to stay during peak times, that could be a hassle. We felt cared for and appreciated the attention to detail, and would definitely come back again.

The Beautiful King Room, Autumn offered a plush, well-furnished space that felt more like a small luxury suite than a typical stay. Special touches like comfortable bedding and meticulous decor showcased the attention to detail, made the ambiance enjoyable.
Located just at the edge of the shops and bars, noise from the occasional reveller made its way into the room-something to consider if you're sensitive to disturbances. Parking proved to be a hassle, with no onsite options and a bit of a trek required to find a spot, though there was a disc available for use nearby. While the facilities were clean and nicely restored, the in-room coffee options were standard and didn't quite align with the luxury experience expected at this price point.

Luxurious room décor, artistic and individually styled rooms, historical charm
The parking situation is a nightmare!!! Expect to circle the area several times just to find a spot. Noise from nearby bars can disrupt your sleep, especially on busy nights!!!
